Welcome to the blog! Here you will find a mixture of musings, Goddess magic, book reviews, travel reflections and a diary of my unplanned escape from working a 9 - 5 job. This might seem like a strange mixture for a Goddess Blog but there is a method to the mix. For women to awaken to their innate Goddess wisdom and power, they must have a full and thorough understanding of themselves and the things that light them up. And this is different for every one of us. For me it's travelling, connecting with women, gardening, nature, reading, having a beautiful living space and creating a lifestyle that allows me time for the things I enjoy.
So this blog is a reflection of what I love and how I am working my way towards a life that is utterly more fulfilling each passing year. I hope that reading my words will inspire you to know what you love and find a way to have more of those things in your life. But I also aim to show you that the journey is messy and what you want may not come in a neat little box. But this is what creates the rich tapestry of an interesting life, well lived.

Awaken the Goddess Books Blog

For the Love of Books

In this section of the blog I share my thoughts on books I've devoured recently. Some are from the monthly Goddess Book Group and others are from my own semi-eclectic choices.

Is there anything better than a comfy armchair, a cup of tea and a good book on a cold afternoon? I have loved reading ever since I was gifted an omnibus of The Famous Five when I was 8 years old. It was the thickest book I had ever seen and I remember thinking 'wow he must think I'm really intelligent to give me such a big book'. I had never particularly enjoyed reading until then - but with my newly inspired 'intelligence' I began the book and I was hooked.

I simply adore books, give me a few hours and a good bookshop and I'm in heaven!

Out and About

In this section of the blog I share about some of my little adventures and how the places and experiences influence me.

I love getting away from home and being somewhere different. When ever I embark on a journey I feel that familiar sense of expansion followed by thoughts about the kind of life I want and whether I'm steering my metaphorical ship in the right direction. I don't know what it is about travel but it always brings me back to myself and reminds me to check in and realign with my purpose.

My favourite getaways involve nature and places of wild beauty but I also like exploring lovely little towns, with their art galleries, museums, churches and bookshops. I have to say that I don't travel abroad very often, one reason is the impact of flying on the environment, another is my complete lack of language skills. I always find it so stressful to be in a place where I can't actually communicate and connect with the people around me.
